bbPress Tutorials - Install bbPress

While installing bbPress isn’t particularly difficult, it is important that you follow a step-by-step process to avoid errors and complications.  This tutorial will take you through the installation process simply and easily.

First, follow these initial steps:

1. Create an empty database for the website where you will be installing bbPress.

2. Download and extract the bbPress package from the official site at bbpress.org.

3. Open config-sample.php, insert your unique information and rename the file as bb-config.php

4. Upload all files to your desired installation directory (i.e. yoursite.com/forums).

When you have completed the first four steps, access bb-admin/install.php in your web browser and follow the given instructions to complete the initial setup.

And it’s as easy as that! Obviously customization is a little more work-intense but the necessary installation steps have been made to be as simple as possible, following the footsteps of WordPress.
